DinniGordo:
If the Greek economy collapses it will surely affect other Euro zone economies. And hopes for addressing Greece's endemic corruption with the new administration of Papandreou will be dashed. Although the economic situation is dire, this is also a moment when a reformist leader like Papandreou could make a political difference.
geraldvanwilgen:
There's no point in letting Greece slip. The only thing the EU can get out of this is a method to better monitor countries where there's a different attitude towards who owns the common goods.
sitarane:
Leaving Greece to deal with its issues after having forced the measures on it will leave its people with a strong ressentment against the EU. It will sponsor nationalism, not only in Greece.
Bruce Eggum:
It is likely some help will be needed. Perhaps co-sign for specific amount of credit. The Euro Union must balance other country's needs while protecting the whole of the Euro Union.
pst:
the euro is going to be badly affected but other EU countries are having some problems of their own too, and can't afford now to bail out a country.
stephaniegz:
The EU should help Greece become more fiscally responsible and design a path out of the crisis, but not bail out now. This sets a bad precedent, and the EU would have to help troubled countries like Portugal, Ireland, Italy and Spain too.
voter:
EU should support Greece but not bail out, after Greece there is a series of other countries with similar problems, what will become a problem too big to bail out
